I Knew when I began this project that it would be my last album before the new millenium. When I part ways with someone, I want to leave with a smile, to kiss their heart, to tatoo on impression of positivity rather than something bitter or sad in their mind. Such is how I want to leave this century with my music. So I release you, 20th Century, Mother to my birth and Father to my ideas, and welcome the Millenium as a newborn child to my dreams and hopes. BIGGEST thanx and deep respect to all the musicans, producers & engineers who supported this project with mega-talent, patience and love, especially Shin, Genta, Ken Shima, Hashy, Brian, Jon Godfather-of-the-Salsa-sound Fausty, Pedro, Lisa Ono and Dave Vallentin. Gratitude to my super crew at Polydor Japan, Kitty Films, Hi’s Production, Acid Rain, Contenporary Productions & Universal Music International. Peace to my friends, family and fans whose words of withdom and encouragement propel me forword. The essence of this album was inspired by Bail, the Mother Ocean and Life –– I am forever humbled by the beauty of your music and for showing me what it’s all about. Dedications to Toko, Aoki, Sachiko and Yanagida who all left us much too early. And a silent plea to those stuck on a bad groove with senseless addicutions : find help, hope, health and happiness. |
